Gemma’s approach is empathetic, understanding, patient, calm, warm and approachable. She believes in the importance of consistency, firm boundaries and strong listening skills within the therapeutic relationship. Understanding the value of empowering children’s personalities and their true selves by accepting and allowing their emotions to emerge.
Gemma’s other areas of specialism include Creative Art Therapy, Clay Therapy and Sand Therapy. She also uses visualisation and mindfulness techniques, particularly with young adults. Gemma is naturally creative, artistic and passionate about the power of play to address behaviour problems and emotional difficulties.
Gemma’s work is clinically supervised and Gemma works as a supervisor of other play therapists working in Ireland.
Gemma is Garda vetted and a member of APAC, PTUK, PTI and PTlrI
