Clinical Supervision
“We think we listen, but very rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet listening, of this very special kind, is one of the most potent forces for change that I know.” Carl Rogers
Through Creative Supervision, Gemma offers her supervisee a working alliance in which the supervisee can reflect upon themselves in their role as a therapist, by giving account of their work and receiving feedback and where appropriate offering guidance and appraisal. The object of this relationship is to maximize the competence of the work with the client and the growth of their professional identity.
This beneficial relationship which offers support and understanding, enabling the supervisee to overcome any challenges or blocks. Gemma provides a safe space for the supervisee to reflect upon the content and the process of the work within the playroom. This supervision helps relate theory to practice, while validating and supporting both the person and the therapist.
